type 2
I've been diabetic for over 10 years. My A1C before surgery was 6.7 and my last reading was 5.4. I have taken only 4 doses of Victoza since my surgery on 12/22/12. I feel so much better it's wonderful! I still have to get vigorous exercise, so 3 or 4 times per week I go to the gym and do a 60 minute step aerobic class. On the days that I do my class and for a day or two after, my sugar rarely goes over 160. If I'm out further than two days from exercise, I can still approach 200, but the A1C has come way down and I'm so thankful.
I guess to answer your question based on my experience, your sugar should come down significantly with the sleeve but it depends on how long you have been diabetic, how much you exercise and how strict you are with your diet. It's a great tool but it's not a miracle, you still have to do your part. Good luck to you!
