As I am a little less than 1 mo out to surgery date, is there  any way to minimize the the amt of loose skin? Should I build some muscle mass or start lotioning?

Any ideas!

Your amount of loose skin is kind of individual.

It will depend on your age, how long you have been overweight, where you carry your weight, if you have lost and gained several times in the past, etc. There is no way to know exactly how bad yours will be.

So can you really minimize it?..not really. You can weight train which will tone your body and put muscle under there which makes it look better, you can lotion it which will help the appearance, you can stay hydrated which helps the appearance also.

But its kind of a crapshoot.

Its really not that bad, loose skin is wayyy better than being morbidly obese and there is always plastic surgery if things are not tolerable.

Well I heard this from a personal trainer, Canadian brand of preparation H can help a bit. I haven't run out to buy any though lol. You can google loose skin and preparation H, I was shocked lol. I would probably buy some shares in it for the amount I would need. Apparently it helps tighten the skin, the american brand took out the ingredient that helps. It is like fifteen bucks for a tube the size of toothpaste, I will have to wait to see if it ever goes on sale.

Otherwise I think the majority of us will need plastics.

If it is a teeny, teeny amount of losening, then maybe muscles can fill the void.  Lotions and potions do not work- period.  Yes, some cause a temporary tight feeling, but not really for the kind of looseness caused by weight loss.
