I was told 64 oz or more.  This might be hard at first though when your stomach is still healing the first few days.  Especially if you are feeling nausea (which i didn't.)

Here is what my surgeons plan says for water and protein the when you get back home...and they require 3 days in the hospitall

AFTER DISCHARGE FROM THE HOSPITAL:

FLUID GOAL:

One ounce every 15 to 30 minutes, which comes to two to four ounces per hour, while awake. Water is best to drink to minimize caloric intake. Avoid fruit juice for this reason.

n

Protein drink: mixing directions are as follows:

u

45 to 60 grams daily. Mix according to the package instructions.

My Dr says 48-64oz/day but that is no easy task!

I'm having a terrible time getting to 48oz of fluid. I'm 4 days post op and all I've been able to stomach is about 20-30oz/day since I've been able to drink. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be but from what I read, this is the worst part and it gets easier! I'm just trying to do my best to get as much in as I can!

Good Luck!

my info was the same.. 48-84oz.. In the beginning it was 48oz.. although I really struggled with this! I now use the 1.5 liter bottles of aquafina to help gage my intake.. I know I also have a shake or two so Im meeting the requirement..

Just know tha****er is the MOST important thing along with protein!!! And water intake will help with the weight loss especially during a plateau!!!!

So drink up!!
