I don't to seem like a whiny brat, but I'm going on week 3 of full liquids and I can't begin to tell you how challenging it has been for me.  I've  cried, gone home to sleep and anything else I can think of to be alone.  I'm so hungry right now it hurts.  Today, I went to get some hot and sour soup and did not strain the contents (tofu, egg whites, mushrooms and bamboo shoots)  I'm fine and my sleeve seems to take it ok, but I feel like i've failed myself.

I'm not even to the point where I've been focusing on protein and water.  I may get 40oz of water and maybe 20 g of Protein in.  I've been trying I promise, I'm conflicted with this decision and REALLY wish I could eat something.

I need some kind words and suggestions on getting more creative.  Oh, I'm 17 days post op.  Thanks You so much.

No suggestions here, just sending a hug your way. Just remember why you wanted to do this in the first place. I know it seems like forever now, but the rest of this time will be over before you know it, and then you'll be able to eat.

*hugs*

How long do you have to be on full liquids for? Have you tried egg drop soup too?

Are you positive you're feeling hunger? It's odd to be feeling that at just 3 weeks out. I'm 5 months and only feel hungry if I go 7-8 hours without eating. It could be acid reflux, if you're not taking a PPI. If you ARE taking a PPI and still feeling hungry, really turn back to those protein shakes. They're going to stick with you a little longer than regular fluid.

Big, big hugs!  I know it's tough.  I am also surprised that you're feeling so much hunger.  Asking about the acid reflux was the first question that came to my mind.

Also, if you're only getting in 20g of protein, then I think it would be logical to feel some hunger.  My doctor wants me to get in 60-80g, which is a lot more than what you're ingesting right now.

When I was on full liquids, I did a double shot of protein shake in the morning, using two scoops of the protein powder in skim milk.  That really set me up great for the day.  I'd also mix plain Greek yogurt in soups for lunch to increase the protein count.

What type of soups did you eat to mix with the Greek yogurt?

My doc had me on clear liquid for 2 days, then full liquid (creams, yogurt, etc) for the next two weeks.  Puured for another 2 and then soft foods for 2, and then normal foods.

Check with your dr, but I dont think moving to full liquids will hurt you.

Are u having a hard time with protein? If so try premier chocolate shakes. There are 18 in a box at Costco for  about $24. They are awesome and have 30 g of protein in one box. You can order them online if you don't have a Costco.
