Peanuts
Depends on your surgeon's requirements.
I was told to keep carbs and fat under a certain percentage of my daily calorie intake for my preop diet, so I did have peanuts some, but sparingly, because they are high in fat and have about as many carbs as they do protein.
In small amounts, they are probably okay.

It does depend on your surgeon's plan.
Nuts and seeds are good for you but very calorie dense. I ate them in measured portions until I had to go on liquids pre-op and after my surgeon OK'd them 3 months post-op.
That said, peanuts aren't the best nuts. Try flavored almonds, they're even better for you.
Be careful of the portion size on nuts - it's not very big. During weight loss I had half a portion a day. Now in maintenance I have one to one and a half portions (if I need the extra calories, I really am trying to not lose any more).
