newbie introduction
Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for three months now and have learned a tremendous amount. Thanks to all of you who take the time to post and share your experiences, opinions, and wisdom. I am going to be having the VSG this summer, probably at the end of June. (I am almost done with the whole process-should finish by the end of April for sure.) I am a teacher and I am taking most of the summer off to devote myself to ME! My youngest is graduating from high school and my oldest from college so it's time to work on myself. I will be 49 at the time of my surgery. I have been morbidly obese since my youngest was born. I was on bedrest for 6 months during my pregnancy with him and my body never really recovered. The weight just piled on. About 8 years ago I did loose 80 pounds on low carb and kept it off for 18 months. But then I went through a totally unexpected divorce and the illnesses and deaths of both of my parents (all three in the same year-plus my basement flooded twice that year too) and the pounds came back on. It's been a yo-yo ever since. I am committed to a lifestyle change. Thanks to all of the suggestions on here I have gradually been getting myself prepared. I am excited- but a little nervous. I know I will have lots of questions later but just wanted to introduce myself now.
Highest weight ever-292
Current weight- 267 (lost 21 pounds this past month on low carb)
Goal weight-160
