I went to myWLS doctors today for 5 week check-up and when I walk in the door what do I see? A large container of cupcakes sitting on the recieption counter! OMG I wanted one so bad! I told the recieptionist in a joking tone that that was just cruel. She said somebody bought them by and she hadn't had a chance to take them to their kitchen area. I so almost had a internal hissy fit because I knew I couln'td/shouldn't but instead just walked by staring longingly at them and sipped on my protein shake.
I wish my love/craving for sweets would have went with the part of my stomach they removed. I still crave them alot and sometime get really bummed went I tell myself I can't have them. But on a good note I have lost 4 more lbs this week and am down 24 lbs since my 2week pre-op diet.

Oh yeah, that's some bull **** right there. I would have gone off actually. I don't have a problem with cakes and whatnot being around me but just the fact that they should know better than to have that stuff there for any amount of time when there are people there who JUST had surgery and are struggling with resisting temptation.
When I was in the hospital recovering people (bariatric patients) had guests who were bringing in fast food and cafeteria food and it was smelling up the whole floor where there was an entire wing of bariatric patients. My mom went OFF on them and called the charge nurse and made she them take their food out. There are just some things that are common sense.
