I have inquired your assistance once before about a few days of stalling but now I'd like to know if stalling for a full week is normal as well???????

Here's the details...

I am on week 3, eating 3 oz. soft foods 3 times a day, drinking around 48 ounces (some days more)  of liquids and jogging about 1.5 miles every other day. The other days I'm not jogging I am walking the same distance.

An explaination would be appreciated. I'd just like to know what my body is up to.

Hmm could be experiencing the 3 week stall?
You really just have to wait them out, keep getting as much water down as you can, and same with the protein. Don't let a stall discourage you too much, because they actually happen quite often (at least for me)
Youre doing fine:)

Very normal.  I am 5 months out and just came out of my 3rd stall and this one lasted 3 weeks.  Seems like mine happened at 25 lbs. 50 lbs. & 75 lbs.  Don't worry, you are doing everything right - it's just something we have to put up with.  This too shall pass LOL.  I can't give you the explanation but there are others on here that can.  Also if you use the search bar in the upper right hand corner and just search for "stall"  you can get all kinds of information.

Stalls happen.  Theres not really anything you can do to avoid them.  Theres really is no guaranteed way to break them - except staying on plan and waiting them out.  The first one usually happens at 3 weeks out.  Then they appear differently for different people.  For me during most of weight loss they happened about every 50 lb or so.  LAtely more often, but I am very close to goal.

How long they last is usually very individual too.  Some people stall for only days, some for weeks.  You will learn how your body handles it.

You didnt say what you are eating - I am hoping its lean protein packed foods and not crap.

With all of that said, you need to be getting more water in.  48 ounces is not NEARLY enough.  You need to be getting 64 ounces MINIMUM.  The formula for proper hydration is half of your body weight (in lb) in ounces of water.  So if you weigh 200 lbs, you should be getting a minimum of 100 oounces of water a day.

Many people will tell you that upping water will break a stall.  There is sound logic behind that if you are dehydrated.  To break fat down in the liver requires water.  After exercise to rebuild your glycogen takes water.  Everything your body does requires water.  If you are starving it of tha****er - the process stops.

Hope this helps.  Try to not let the stalls freak you out or knock your head out of the game.  I had a big freak out over mine earlier this week - and am back on track now.  Just know that they happen and they don't mean you are a failure.

Oh but yes!  My first stall was the dreaded 3 week stall and lasted 3 weeks...some of the most frustrating 3 weeks of my life!  I've had other stalls over the past 11 months, but they always pass and great losses follow.  Hang in there!  i know it's so very difficult to endure, but it really will pass.

Im about 10 weeks out and lost 36 pounds up thru week four then dropped 9 more and have not lost for the last two weeks. I just started increasing my exercise as I have forward slippage of my lumbar spine so I have to be very careful. I seem to be a stair step loser. I figure I didn't gain it overnight and I would rather take it off slowly while exercising. Keep working your program. We're all in this together.

Stalls are a natural (and very irritating) part of the weight loss process.  Your body needs time to adjust, especially since you are losing fairly fast.  I've been lucky and only had two stalls, both 14 days in length (so far -- got 30 pounds to go so it may happen again).  You just have to stick to the plan and give your body time.  The weight will go again!

Re: the details of where you are at in your journey, the only recommendation I would make is to drink more water.  At least 64 if not more ounces a day. I get in 80 or more a day, every day!  It will definitely help.

Good luck and stay the course.  Things will move again soon!  It's all quite normal.

Stalls are just apart of the process.  I had  short pauses early on, but after 2 months or so I switched to stair step type losses.  I now go about 15-20 days with no weightloss, then a week of rapid weight loss, then back to 15-20 days with no loss again.  Overall the average monthly loss is staying consistent though.  I do well for the first 7-10 days of a stall, but find toward the end of the second and into the third week it is pretty tough.  I tend to worry that the weight loss is over, but each time so far it has kicked in.  Just keep yourself on plan and it will come off
