Day 2 pre op diet 800 calories per day meal supplements - thankfully not liquid.

Have been having cravings for "real" food all day and trying not to be starving. Broth is on my clear liquids "ok list." Just made a cup of better than bouillon chicken flavored. Totally helped. Just throwing it out there because I know there are others in the same boat.

That is the best tasting broth. It got me through my pre and post op days. Hang in there you are doing great.

Ooh I will need broth. Is that in a regular grocery store or should I look at a specialty store like Trader Joes?

Ladybug  I get mine in the regular grocery store near the broths. It comes in a plastic jar it's concentrated not cubes or particles.

Is that low sodium? On my surgeons requirements it says my broth should be low sodium. I am using the low sodium canned right now and beginning to dislike it. I wonder if it would be okay to try it even if it is not low sodium.
I am on day 9 of my pre-op diet and have lost 12 lbs so far so I am worried of messing with what I have going but I know after surgery if I don't like the broth, I wont eat it
Thanks and good luck to you with your pre-op diet. Seems you are doing Great!

Hi, we're in the same place...my surgery is 8/20 and I'm day 2 preop diet. Its hard, but I just stick to what my surgeon says I can have. I like chicken broth, sugar free jello and crystal light in addition to my meal replacements.

Good luck on your journey!

Thanks, Jaris.  You too!  Are you on all liquid or some solids?
