Three Months Check In
I don't make too many posts, but I wanted to check in, and give props to OH and the many wonderful contributors here. I had my surgery on 10/26/12. It was an easy, textbook recovery, I was even back to work two days later. I've lost 47 lbs over the last three months, and I couldn't be happier. I don't have reflux, and don't take anything for it either. I have little or no hunger for several, several hours, and to me that is just amazing. It feels normal to me now, but really to look back before VSG, it is quite amazing that I don't have that huge desire to eat. I know it tends to come back, but at least it won't be like before.
My surgery was a revision from the lapband, so I was told that my weight loss could be much slower. I don't really think it has been, but as long as I'm moving in the right direction, I'm happy. I do stay between 600 to 800 calories a day, really limit my carbohydrates, and most importantly keep my protein high.
I log onto this site almost every day. I learn a lot from the veterans and newbies alike. The veterans teach me to look out for approaching land minds, and the newbies teach me to not forget where I've come from.
Thanks and best luck and continued success to you all.
