Going through this the second time is hell. I feel like I have to starve myself to lose. I know that's not true but that's how it feels.
I'm almost 4 yrs out & will have to adjust my goal. See I was stupid & started eating food I shouldn't because I couldn't eat very much. Over time I could eat more & my choices got worse & worse. I'm hoping that my experience will help keep even one person from going down the same road.
Work hard & lose as much as you can before you can eat very much & before you start getting hungry again.
Eat what you know you should, in the correct amounts.
God bless.

Great advice. I hope you will get back to goal. It can be done. It is good you are recognizing and correcting what you did.

Hello

Do you feel like you can eat a lot more at 4 years out than 18 months out?  Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question but even I am having a hard time sticking to a 800 calorie plan when I need to drop a few pounds.  I have been losing & gaining the same few pounds & it's driving me crazy.  Even I am feeling deprived ... maybe not at this very moment but a lot of the time.  I just updated my post on Ms. Shell's "Whatcha Eating" so I can feel more accountable if I go off plan.  Turns out I decided to eat cottage cheese & sweet peppers for lunch and I loved it.  I just wish the good clean stuff always sounded good.  I definitely feel better when I eat better.  Old habits die hard, sucks for sure.  I'm struggling already too.

But like mimi said, you can do this.  I have seen you posting on Ms. Shell's thread too.  We are all in this together.

Yes, I feel like I'm where I'm going to be for life, but I can definitely eat more now than at 18 mos. Not a lot more, but some.
I think it's particularly hard because I'm trying to keep my carbs so low that I can't really fill up with veggies.
Then when I get the protein in & the carbs right, I find out my fat is too high because my protein isn't lean enough. I feel like the dumbest sleever ever.
And I'm not exercising. That is a must for weight loss & I just won't make myself do it.

I am not exercising either.  Just when I decide to start a workout routine, I get sick & run down.  I'm hoping I can start something in the next couple of weeks.  I guess we gotta find a workout we like.  Even walking can be fun for me if I listen to music on my iPod.  I've been making excuses that it's too cold outside for me to walk on breaks at work.  I need to bring my big jacket & suck it up.

I know this is another reason why I have to keep my calories low because I am not burning calories through exercise.  I'm pretty convinced that if I started moving my lazy a$$, I could shed some poundage for sure.

You are not dumb gurl!  We all struggle at times.  We all know even the successful VSGers have downfalls at times.  We just have to pick ourselves back up, dust off & try again.  It's all we can do.  I've made it known recently that I am struggling but I refuse to give up.  Hopefully you have a strong support system with family & friends too.  That helps a lot.

Refusing to give up is key!
The reason others like me don't come back & post is that they are too embarrassed or have given up & blame some other reason for their regain.
We will make it. It takes a long time to learn sometimes.

if you get the protein right and the carbs right, don't worry about the fat. we need fat to burn fat. "low fat" dieting is very old school and new research is proving it out.

Also fat is satiating so you feel full and satisfied. Just be sure you have the protein and the carbs right and the fat will take care of itself.
