Let's post our plans...our progress...our goals and hold each other accountable!

I am currently working on Week One of the Couch to 5K program. I am also supplementing my 3x per week runs with strength training on my off days.

My current goal is to do two 5K's this summer...one being the Color Run in June and the other being the Electric Run in August.

This week I am committed to my program on Monday, Wednesday, Friday with alternating strength days. Currently on track to meet my goals for the week.

I'm training for my first 10K on May 4th. My longest run is 7.5miles. I run 4days per week and walk on my off days. I also will walk on my short run days.
My goal is to join a gym this summer (we are moving so I want to wait until we are closer to our new house to join). I want to add cross training and weights on my off run days.

Do you see a need to have a "rest" day between runs? I'm new to running, so I don't want to do any damage by running on back to back days...

It depends really on my schedule. I'm actually just a novice too. I started in January and have built up to 7.5 miles for my longest distance. My pace is about a 10:30mins per mile average (slow). I did a 7mile run on Sunday and 5.2 Monday. I woke up a bit sore today. I just did a comfortable walking pace for about 60min. I may have to take off tomorrow b/c my hubby is getting his VSG!!!!!
If I skip tomorrow, I will be back on for Thursday. I use an app called RunKeeper. It helps me track my distance, pace, calories etc. It also has training schedules and it was free. The GPS portion can screw up but honestly you get what ya pay for

I just completed five 5k races this year.  My next race is a 10k and in November I'm signed up a half marathon.  I caught the running bug.  I run Tuesdays ( easy run), Thursay ( pace work) and Saturday ( long run day).  I strength traing / boot camp on Mondays and Wednesdays.  On Fridays I swim.  Sunday's I rest.

Sure I'll play!  Completed my first 5K of the year on Saturday.  PRed with a time of 29:03.  Tomorrow I start Hal Higdons Intermediate 5K Improver plan whi*****orporates 400 meter speed drills, tempo runs, and long distance days once per week.  I'm registered for my next race on May 18, The Armed Forces Day 5K.  I plan on continuing with the improver plan until August when I start Fleet Feet's 10K Training Group.  The group meets 3 times per week from August until November and includes the registration fee for my first 10K, which will be the Broad Street Ramble in downtown Augusta, Ga!  I love the idea of a weekly miles/progress check in :). Oh yeah, I alternate my 3 days a week of running with two days of lifting using New Rules of Lifting for Women.
