I Think it's Funny...
...that I consumed 668 calories today and that seems HIGH when, before surgery, I'm sure there are days I consumed well over 3,000... WTF? lol. Funny how perspective changes, eh?

Very much so! LOL On a simple trip to Olive Garden I'd easily consume 3,000 calories...pretty scary to think of that now.
I'm on Week 3 post op and can barely get in 250-300 calories if that and keep getting scared thinking my body will shut down or go into starvation mode. It's amazing how I'm not even hungry whereas before I would most likely be with a massive headache and shaking.
I KNOW, RIGHT? It seems crazy to me that when I hit 600 calories now, I think.. man, I need to watch what I'm eating... and I immediately go over my day to see where I went "overboard". And I'm pretty sure at 318 pounds, I was going well over 3,000 calories a day!
When I tell people that I generally eat somewhere around 500 calories a day, they can't believe it. And they don't believe me when I tell them I am not hungry all day long. What's also funny, is the people who know about my surgery (most all of my friends, I've been open about it since the procedure) are with me when we eat... I noticed they stare at me eating. I know it's just curiosity, but it's funny. I also get checked out by anyone who hasn't seen me in a couple weeks.. I see their eyes give me the once over, to see how I'm coming along. LOL
Hehe....I've had to teach me friends to NOT match my pace when we go out to dinner! "C'mon guys...you have a LOT to eat...if you go bite for bite with me, we'll be here all NIGHT!" lol. Ach...I don't mind being an oddity...I'd rather be curious because of how little and slow I'm eating than because of my size before. But it does all sorta crack me up lol.
