To Enhance or Not to Enhance
Lately, I've purchased a variety of water enhancers in numerous flavors....berry, lemonade, etc. Even Kool-Aid has a few on the market. These are tiny bottles of flavor and you add a few drops to your water. I was thinking, "Wow...flavor and no calories...what a great solution for drinking my water each day." I was excited until I found a magnifying glass and began to read the ingredients---propylene glycol is a key ingredient---the same stuff they use in personal care products, make-up, shampoo, etc. Now I'm thinking those water enhancers are not so good.
Thoughts?
I'm not sure about propylene glycol, but I've often wondered. I've been drinking infused water and can't get enough of it. I love lemon, lemon and lime, orange and basil, plus I've pinned several others on Pinterest that I want to try. I wonder what the calories and carbs are like in infused waters...hopefully not much! Could be an option if you didn't want to use water enhancers anymore.
Lavender or mint infused water...yum!
