Yesterday was a *****! The day after Memorial Day, and the official start of my summer break. Nothing went right-timing off-no exercise-bla,bla,bla, gave up about 3:00 when I found myself grazing on cashews and nibbling a piece of homemade whole wheat nut bread - the first bread since surgery almost 6 months ago. WTF? Project this type of behavior and attitude over the next 10 weeks, and where do you suppose I'll be then? I love vacation. What I do not handle very well is the lack of structure and purpose that seems to come with it. I guess I don't do freedom too well. I saw Keith's post, "What are you doing for yourself this week." What I'm going to do is get organized and live purposefully and productively this summer. I've set goals- did that and they are in the top drawer of my teacher's desk at school. The difference between this summer and the last 20 plus summers is that instead of procrastinating (translate moving backwards) for 5 weeks, then freaking out and frantically trying to make up for lost time only to give up in despair, creeping back into the classroom in August worse for the experience, I'M GOING TO EXECUTE THAT LIST! Thoughtfully, Joyfully, Courageously EXPERIENCE this Summer! WLS- who'd'a'thunk that setting down the food would enable me to engage more fully in truly living a life worth living!
