Walking for Gas

I had some gas pain. I walked around the hospital, but I don't know that my walks were any longer than 5 minutes. I mainly walked because it's supposed to help recovery and prevent blood clots.

I on the other hand had horrid gas pain for about 10 days after surgery.  Yes I did a lot of walking, it might have only been to one end of the house and back but walking helped.

I also invested in "Gas X" that also helped me when the walking just wasn't cutting it.

My surgery was May 16.  I did not have gas pains in rectum or ab - but had gas settle in my shoulders.  Since they fixed my hiatel hernia it lasted a good 6 days.  Anytime I moved my shoulders, they hurt - like I had worked out to hard the day before.  But eventually it went away.

Gas X strips were suggested for the hospital bag and for trip home.  I found them at Rite Aid.  Looked at 4 stores, the meltable strips are better than pills.

My surgeon wanted us to walk, but just up and down the hall.  It wasn't far and wasn't a problem.

I had gas in my shoulders and chest. I walked alot the night of surgery and it was gone in the morning. Very uncomfortable while it lasted but not horrible.
