Walking for Gas

My new surgery date is now June 18, pending cardiac clearance (i obtained my Nephrologist's clearance on Friday). When I had the open surgery years ago, the gas pains were BAD and i remember walking to relieve them. 

Now my lower back keeps going into spasm and I can only stand or walk for a few minutes. I could use a trip to my pain management doc for a cortison shot in my lower spine, but I need to be off coumadin for 5 days to get the shot. I'm going to be off coumadin for 5 days prior to surgery. I don't want to be off coumadin for 10 days this month, that makes me nervous.

Will I have gas pains if the procedure is done laparoscopically? How long will they last (hours? days?). Do you think I can get by without walking, or just walking for 5 minutes? 

I had my surgery done 3 days ago, laposcopically and am having gas pains. I walk maybe for 5 minutes max as I am having trouble with my fluids and I am dizzy. But the 5 minutes makes it so much better. So hopefully you should be fine too

Hope you get rid of the dizzyness. Be careful til you do. do you have anything to hold onto? cane or walker? or hold onto furniture as you walk by. Make sure there are no throw rugs or runners for you to trip over. 

I've been holding on to my boyfriend, and that has been working pretty well so far. =)

I was so worried about this as well; I have bad back issues and walking was not something that felt good.  I lucked out, really didn't have any gas pains at all after surgery.
