Surgery tomorrow...terrified

Well, tomorrow is my surgery day!  I report at 11am and will hope that Dr. Williams and the folks at Penn take good care of me.  I have been on this board for months as I went through the approval process.  I am so grateful for all of the advice and for this community.  I have read so many people who are so excited for their surgery.  I am terrified.  I have two little girls and I am just worried about having a complication and not being here for them.  Obviously, I am also doing this with them in mind.  Wish me luck!  Prayers and encouragement are welcome!!!

You will be fine! You trust your surgeon and have done all the research. You are in good hands. Don't go into surgery terrified and upset. Be at peace with your decision and know that complications are rare nowadays. Try some positive thinking of how great you will feel about yourself and your new life. Meditate and focus on cleansing breaths. You are strong and brave. The best is yet to be!

I just had surgery last week on the 4th, I was also afraid. I think the toughest day was the third day. Believe me when I say that each day WILL be a better day. The left side is what hurts the most for me but fully understand why.

Ask for Versed once the doctors have seen you and I guarantee you will be at ease.

You will be just fine.

It's very common to have those last-minute jitters.  :)

Check back with us after your surgery when you feel up to it to let us know how you're doing!
