Just curious, I am about 19 months out and can't eat any bread, pasta, rice..etc. Which really is a good thing. Every time I try they get stuck! Not fun....

Read the post incorrectly.  No comment on this.  Only 2 months out...

I am 8 months post-op and yes I can eat carbs and have been for several months. I eat protein-, quinoa- and whole grain pastas; whole grain breads, crackers, waffles; brown rice, quinoa and oatmeal. I eat very small portions of each, typically one-half of what the documented "portion" size is on the box.

It works if you work it; it sorta works if you sorta work it; and it doesn't work if you don't work it.

If you have a sleeve you can't really get stuck, there is nothing in there to get stuck on.  Bands and bypass have a pouch and stoma, THEY get stuck.  Sleeves and DS have no stoma for food to get stuck in.

There is a difference between not tolerating a food and getting stuck.  BIG huge mega difference.

Then when that happens you probably need to go to an ER because we have no stoma for anything to get stuck in unless you swallow a piece of bread whole.

Hi, I'm sorry but you are incorrect. If there is any type of stricture, food WILL get stuck which is why I am still on clear liquids? Praying that I have no issues if my surgeon does advance me to full on Friday. Before, I couldn't even do protein shakes because they were too thick!
