Hurts to sit (but I guess thats a good thing!)

I am on my way to 10,000 steps today! (I have a fitbit... LOVE my fitbit!) Only 1,500 left to get to 10,000.

I am slightly shocked... but walking is more comfortable than sitting. My incisions seem to feel really sore when I am sitting and resting. Now I NEED to still rest... I am not even a week post-op just yet and I need my rest. However, I guess it is a good thing that being active hurts less than being inactive.

Anyone else have this issue? Where sitting hurts more than walking around?

I didn't have that issue with the sleeve but had another abdominal surgery and it was such a pain. I had to lie down, couldn't sit. I had to cancel hair appts because I couldn't sit long enough. Friends came over with lunch and I had to stand while we ate. It took a few weeks but it was different surgery and might be quicker for you.. Good luck!

Oh and one other thing. I drove way too early on that surgery and I think I made it worse.

I have had abdominal surgeries before and never had this before... BUT my incisions were lower (it was from a hysterectomy). I think it might hurt less if I had a binder or something for my stomach. I bought those "trendy top" things... but its too big! lol It didnt work like I need. I am thinking of going to a maternity store to get one because I know those work pretty well. lol I think its too soon to use spanks or anything like that.

Jennifer, They had me in a binder directly from surgery. HEAVEN!!!!! I think the support has been wonderful. Holds in all the jiggly parts.

Try a surgical supply store, like the ones that sell crutches or wheelchairs. Also, some of the stores now have them that firm you up under your clothes. Mine looks like a strip of material that velcro's around my waist. Nothing fancy, but feels good.

Sitting doesn't hurt.  Standing, on the other hand...that kills me.  Gravity is a cruel mistress, methinks!
