2 months and a personal milestone... (pics!)
I've been heavy all my life, and I don't know any different. I had considered WLS 2 years ago, but my head was not in the right place for such a life changing event. Last summer I went on an Alaskan cruise and had looked like this in my photos.
I avoided cameras like crazy, and I would NEVER, NEVER post a full body picture on my Facebook.
On Feb 21, I started my journey toward weight loss surgery after hitting a low of bad health (what 25 year old needs to be on high blood pressure medicine?). By mid May I hit my surgeons weight loss goal of 32 pounds, and on May 29th I had the VSG surgery. I am now a little over 2 months out and have lost exactly 80 pounds total, going from weighing 322 to 242.
I had to chance to visit the Pixar campus for school related activities, and I was not shy from the camera! Here is a picture from pixar, as well an a picture of my face to compare to the above one.
My milestone is that not only are both of these pictures on my Facebook, one of them is my profile picture. I am so thankful for this surgery and for a chance to be healthy. And to anyone who is still on the fence about having it, it is so worth it. Do it for yourself!
So did anyone else catch the irony that she covered up Mike's face with her headshot?
