23 Pounds in Two Weeks???!??!
Hey all, so I wanted to give you some background about myself. I had the band placed September 2010, and it slipped in June 2013, and was removed immediately. When I first got the band put in I was standing at 5'7" and 320 pounds. In June, when the band slipped, I had reached a low of 195. After gaining some weight (a lot of weight), I got the sleeve done two weeks ago. I was 246 when the sleeve was done, and am currently 225.
Now, my question is, HOW DID I LOSE 23 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS? Is this healthy? Is this okay? I'm happy, don't get me wrong, I just don't want to lose too quickly. I know with the band, I lost about 15 pounds in the first month after surgery, but I am not entirely sure what is normal for this one.
Please shed some light! Bahh
I lost 26lbs in my first month and I lost all of it the first 2 weeks and then I didn't lose anything for about 3 weeks. I think it's pretty normal. I was told that it's water weight. Good Luck on your journey!!
I did the same thing. My surgeon was excited! A lot of it was water weight, a couple pounds accounted for the physical portion of the stomach that was removed, and then several pounds of actual fat on top of that. Nothing to be concerned about. If you're like me, you'll slow down after the first month. For now, enjoy watching that scale zoom down!! Woohoo for 23 pounds! That's 23 pounds you'll NEVER see again!!

Ah that's definitely reassuring. I had a friend tell me I look so much thinner, but I don't FEEL thinner just yet. I suppose that will come in time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who lost so rapidly. I was so used to my doctor telling me that I was losing too rapidly with the band, so I just assumed this was another one of those situations.
