I had a small stall/slowing of weight loss around 2.5- 3 weeks out. I was averaging around 600 cal. My weight loss seemed to go up and down with a final loss of 2 lbs or so. I noticed that when my calories went up to around 675 to 700 and I increased fluid intake to around 70 oz. that things seemed to have jump started. Back to 4lbs. lost this week. Can it be the added calories and water that did it? No activity change.

Our bodies are mysterious things, aren't they?  Sometimes you just have to trick it into going back into weight loss mode!

Probably not related. Stalls happen and then break all on their own. It's your body's way of coping. Stay on plan and things will be fine.

Changes in general tend to break stalls. Less calories, more water, change in exercise routine all could have broken your stall so do not read too much into that. It also could have just been time for your stall to break or it may not have been a stall at all just some water retention.

In my personal opinion 600 calories is the bare minimum you should consume. I heard in a nutrition lecture the other day that the brain alone requires 600 calories per day to function properly.

My guess however is the water. You should actually be getting closer to 100 oz.

Keith, when we are obese, we pull the calories from our fat stores. The only thing that we can't pull is the protein. That we need to consume. I ate about 300 calories very early out and my doctor was for it as long as they were almost exclusively protein. By 3 month, I was eating 600 calories.
