I'm feeling soooo much better!  Almost human again.  So far so good.  The check up went really well- the drain came out and bandages off and re taped- I can shower and sleep in my bed...Yay!  Crazy how it's the everyday normal activities are missed most.  Yesterday was a turning point and I made all my goals for the day- 84 oz liquids, 65+ G protein, and 4/ 15 minute slow (1.5 mph) sloggs on the treadmill.  Recovery, here I come.  I took a big look at my tummy, and guess what? No extra skin.  I used to beable to gather up gobs and gobs of skin and its not there anymore.  Thank you surgeon- and thank you (now also much lighter) piggy bank and thank you wonderful, supportave hubby-love-o-my-life, and thank you God for my life.  Haven't been on the scales yet.  When I came home from Sleeve surgery last Dec, I was 18 #s heavier and it took two weeks to loose the water weight.  Lesson learned and I'll wait this time.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving folks.  Much to be grateful about this year- including all of the wonderful friends I've made on this forum.  Will be posting some pictures sometime in the future.  Surgeon said he removed approximately 12x 10 in from lower tummy and 8x9 piece from upper abs. Definately a lot of skin.

Sounds like you are through the worst of it.  I just rescheduled my surgery for December and dreading the procedure, but looking forward to getting it over with.  I am glad to read that you are able to do some  normal stuff now, and hopefully you will heal rapidly.  Super cool you lost all that extra skin!

I'm so glad you are feeling better.  How long did it take to start feeling better?  i.e. when did you have the plastic surgery?  I'm thinking I will have plastics when I reach goal, and I'm a bit nervous about it.

best wishes,

Carol

Hi Carol!  Catching up on some posts Thanksgiving evening- hope you had a good one!  My surgery was Friday the 22nd. Outpatient- 4 hours and they found some internal bleeding, so back I went for another 2-3 hrs.  Long time under anesthesia--Pretty wiped out and hunched over for about 3 days.  Hubby took good care of me- My days were comprised of liquids, walking around the house for a few minutes, trying to get some protein in, nappies, repeat  (sound familiar?- kind of post WLS! HA) Tuesday was the turning point- so about 3 days before I felt more in control and in healing mode--began slow walking on the treadmill several times a day and taking some interest in the world around me.  Had my first post op check up Wed- drain out (YAY)  Today got ot take a shower, put on some real clothes and dinner out at Bro/Sis in Laws for Thanksgiving.  Tired tonight, but not hurting and LOVING a tummy that isn't there anymore.  Not seeing that mass of skin just hanging there--PRICELESS!!!  I think nervous is a normal way to feel, but looking at it- the effort and money and healing to come was and will be so worth it!  I wish you so well in your life- Bonnie
