I'm on day 2 of my pre-op diet and my emotions are all over the board.  I'm crying over the littlest thing.  I'm short with people, especially my husband.  I feel like I'm going CRAZY!  Is this part of detox????

Very normal and go ahead and warn him that you are going to be this way for the next 3 month but for different reasons.  Right now you are probably detoxing from carbs.  After the surgery your hormones will be all over the place.  You may be happy one minute, crying the next or wanting to kill someone!  indecision  Once your body starts slowing down losing weight so quickly, it will even out and become more manageable but understand it will happen and it is all part of the wonderful journey you are getting ready to embark on.

Hang in there - the carb monster is evil but you CAN kill him off this week!

This is very normal the same thing happened to me two days out of surgery when I got home. What helped me was talking to my husband and my two adult daughters. Who have given positive talks. Plus I did a lot of praying. It lasted on and off about 2 1/2 weeks. Stay positive occupy your mind with a good book or just talking to family and friends. You will be fine.

This is very normal. Some days it gets easier and I think I have this thing licked. WRONG! I'm on day ten and had a rough one today. You have to remember that we are used to getting what we want. We ride the emotional roller coaster and use food to cope. Yes, the first few days you are detoxing so it's normal. After that I find it is more of a grieving process ( at least for me.) I've never told myself no, unless I was on a serious diet. If I wanted to eat something, I DID. Now we can't. Take it one hour at a time. Go to bed early. Try to eat alone in a calming environment. Go for a walk and just think. This is a very short time...a blip.... in what will be the rest of our lives!

My 2nd-4th day of my pre op diet I had to work 12 hour shifts as a RN.  I'm normally the most chill person ever and I thought I was losing it at 1 point.  It gets better I promise!
