PHOTO HEAVY...happy holidays 11 Months post op
I just wanted to post a little holiday inspiration for those new to the forum, researching VSG, or recent post ops. Today marks my 11 month post op surgiversary. I compiled a little montage of before pictures to give you all an idea of where I was at 11 months ago. I weighed 220 and was miserable. I had hypertension, pre-diabetes, cholesterol at 263, chronic back pain...and I was 28 years old. I decided after my yearly physical (where my doctor wanted to put me on all sorts of meds!) that it was time to change my life. I dove head first into post op life after having surgery with Dr. Fernando Garcia in Mexico. I followed my eating plan to a tee and fell in love with the gym...mainly running =) Looking back at these photos is pretty shocking for me. I don't even recognize myself...and sadly i'm not in many pictures to begin with. I missed out on so many photo ops with my husband and little boy because i was embarrassed to be photographed. Now we take pictures EVERYWHERE we go! I hit goal at 6 months and 3 days post op and have gone on to lose 14 more pounds. I'm currently 124 lbs with a body fat percentage around 16%. I'm in a size 2/4 and XS/S tops. Life is amazing.
Wow you look awesome. It is good motivation for me. Keep upi the great work.

Wow! You look fantastic! I'm starting out close to your high weight and I'm taking a ton of meds for co-morbidities I'm a lot older than you, but my goal weight is 125. That's about where i was when I had my first child. It's hard for me to imagine looking slim and beautiful. A couple of my doctors have pooh-poohed my goal weight as unreasonable, but my surgeon thinks it's doable. I'm commited to losing the weight. I hope next Christmas i can post some rocking picz like you!
