Sitting at home

Yesterday was the day that I was very grateful for the surgery (12/18).  I had been keeping myself busy since the surgery and really have not had much downtime which had been my weakness. Yesterday, my husband worked all day and I was home alone.  I did go for a walk but I did watch a lot of television.  I thought of cleaning but my incisions are still sore and I did not want to do too much.  As I reflected back on the day, I thought back to what I would have done pre-surgery and I would have eaten my way through the day.  My husband has a junk food cabinet that I have not even opened since surgery and I know that  I would have cleaned that out while watching television pre-surgery.  There were several times during the day that I was tempted to eat a M&M because they were sitting out so I put them in the cabinet and out of sight.  I was pretty proud of myself at the end of the day and I know that the sleeve restriction was the real tool to fight the battle.

It is nice to see accomplishments on the scale, but little accomplishments like this are ones to be proud of also! Good job!

Great job and I totally get what you are saying.  There have been a number of times just this past week that surgery kept me on track.  No question had I just been "dieting" or "watching what I eat" I would have been off track a number of times.  I know that keeping on track will get harder as time goes by and were not as afraid of our "sleeves" but I feel really optimistic that the lack of hunger and successful weight loss will be motivation to stay the course

Way to go Stacey! I know how you feel about the junk food. I have three kids in the house who have some, ugh! One thing I have had to pay attention to, is not licking the spoon off once I'm finished serving something. Like tonight, my kids had macaroni and cheese for their side dish. Once I was done putting it away at the end of the meal, I caught myself looking at the spoon, and all the little bits of mac & cheese stuck on it. I had to throw it in the sink quick!
