EEK! I can not believe this time tomorrow I'll be 'sleeved'. Feeling a bit nervous ... any last minute advice or tips for post surgery?

Do not go to the hospital without Chapstick! It will be your best friend! Congrats...

Take a pillow for the ride home. Get your pain meds NOW if you can. Ask for some nausea medication to go behind your ear!!!

Other than that.... Just relax your nerves. Walk and SIP your fluids.

I am so glad that I am sleeved. I packed a positive attitude! I knew that i would have a couple of rough days and then I would be fine. happy to say that on the fourth day I felt pretty good. When they came to roll me into the OR, I did some bed dancing!

I woke up vomiting a bit... figured out on my last surgery a few weeks ago it was the morphine.  If you know or even suspect that you do not tolerate it well be sure to tell the anesthesiologist.

I agree with previous responses about Chapstick and a pillow to brace your abdomen with on the ride home. I'd also add a bra that is EASY to get on. You're going to be sore and stiff when it's time to go home, so if you plan to put a bra on, make sure that it's a really comfy one! I made the mistake of bringing a sport bra. HA. No WAY was that happening. I ended up putting the one I wore into the hospital back on in the end.

Also, I assume that you'll be on a morphine pump post op that you are in control of. USE IT if you need it. Don't be uncomfortable if you don't have to be! However, know that morphine can blur your vision and it's pretty annoying when you're trying to get up and walk around.
