Stupid question-for the ladies

I had surgery Monday and I really want to wearmy bra again, but I'm scared it might open up one of my incisions. When did you start wearing your bra again and was it comfortable? Mine all have underwires.

My bra didn't hit my incisions, so it wasn't a problem.  I started wearing it the day after surgery.  My incisions were all taped up so I didn't even think about it.

Good luck,

Carol

I will probably not be able to wear mine for a while because one of my incisions is RIGHT on my bra line! I'm glad I took 4 weeks off work because I'm going to need them!!! My incisions are at my bra and waistband lines! AUUGH!!!!

My largest incision is about 2 inches below my bra line and I have 2 smaller ones about the same distance.

I also wear bras with underwire and one of my incision**** about an inch below my bra line. I found that I had swelling for several days (close to a week) and it just wasn't comfortable to wear it. I tried to avoid bras that first week, but if I had to wear one, I wore a sport bra that hooked in the back.

Definitely NOT a stupid question!!

My incision is right on my bra line too. I wore a sports bra today and yesterday and it didn't bother it.

I couldn't wear my bra after surgery either,  I had an incision right between the cups where the fabric pulls tight.  I went to Walmart and bought one of those Genie Bra's.  My friend had one and suggested it would probably be good for not rubbing on or pinching my incision.  It was perfect, I wore it for a little over a week before I was able to wear my regular bra again.  Not great support, but very comfortable and didn't irritate my incision so it healed quickly.

I was able to comfortably wear my bra the day after surgery. I guess it all depends on where your doc makes the incisions. The Genie Bra is a great alternative! Good luck to you!

I wear all underwire bras and my wound drain incision is right on my bra line. The other four address above my belly button. The thought of wearing a bra was not a good thought for me! The first week I went without a bra and then I bought some cheap ones from walmart for $5. They are called the Best Bra Ever and are pretty comfortable!
