Why?

Yesterday I did something stupid (oops, sorry). We were having my son's birthday party, and I made the cake. I make cakes. But when I make cakes, everything else gets shoved aside. I thought I knew better now, but I fell into an old cake-making habit. I didn't eat. All. Day. I didn't eat before I started making the cake, while I was making the cake, I was too busy. I finished right before the party, where I didn't eat because it was pizza. At the end of the day (very late in a busy day) I ate some protein and veggies, and that was it. 

I was distracted and I didn't even think about food.

today, though, I have done my protein first, eaten on plan, and in general have done everything like I am supposed to. So why the hell am I struggling today? Today I feel like I'm "hungry." It's all in my head. I know it's not real hunger, but today I'm struggling feeling like I'm hungry even though I am eating. Yesterday I didn't even though I should have. Seriously. What. The. Carbs.  Many of us have issues.  I do.  I eat a bunch of sugary carbs and I'm hungry for days.  Stick to protein and fat, and I'm under control.

De-carb for a couple days and you'll be fine, but it will suck for a while.  Eventually I learned.  The punishment isn't worth the crime... I do carbs when I'm exercising hard ( more than 90 minutes) and they don't have the same effect... but if I sit around and eat cake or candy... oy.

But I didn't eat the freaking cake! I barely ate anything! I wish I had, then at least I could blame it on the carbs.

I find that if I'm late eating a meal, my usual serving won't fill me up, and my hunger is bigger than usual, even though I've eaten my usual calorie count.  So I can imagine that if I skipped whole meals, I'd be hungry the next day.  yesterday, you were busy, so probably didn't notice any hunger.

Good job avoiding the cake and pizza, but do feed yourself to keep yourself strong and healthy!
