Need advice!
I had the VGS yesterday & did pretty well until about 10am this am. The pain is worse than I expected! The liquid pain med they sent me home with make me puke or dry heave - I'm SO miserable right now:(. Is today a difficult day for people? Any advice or similar experience you could share would be greatly appreciated!
I think it's pain from surgery not gas but guess it's hard to tell? I had an iv bag of some anti-gas & a prescription for a pill - not sure why I can take that pill but not a pain pill. This liquid stuff is beyond gross:(. Praying tomorrow is a btr day because today I'm regretting this decision
The first day is hard. I remember I was so bloated-I looked 7 months pregnant- and it hurt to move. Is the pill for gas? Hopefully that will help- I was sent home with a ppi that works wonders. I hope you will be able to get a different pain medication if you can't tolerate this one. I was on hydrocodone for 4 days and it worked well. If you still have lots of gas even after the ppi a lot of people use gas x strips. Good luck! It will get easier.
Not sure what a ppi is but he sent me home w/liquid pain - gas meds & nausea meds. I take the nausea pill 29 mins b4 pain but today is the worst! Praying tomorrow I turn a corner
Second day is bad. Call surgeon. They can give you pills instead of the liquid. The oxycodone pills are very tiny. Don't just sit and suffer.

It's a relief to hear that about 2nd day being rough. I asked about pills today & was told not much if a choice but I didn't see my surgeon just seine frm his office. Guess I wasn't prepared for this pain! Praying tomorrow is much better
Let the doc know (whoever it is-someone is in charge of your care) that you throw up the liquid and need pain pills.

If you're in pain, and your surgeon refuses to give you anything to alleviate it, get yourself to the ER. You do not need to suffer through it and it will hinder your recovery.
