3 month checkup - health NSV!

Today was my 3 month checkup and it went pretty well!  They seemed pretty impressed with my weight loss,  maybe even hinted that I was losing too rapidly. I am down 60lbs since my two week pre op and 52 since surgery. I'm eating about 600-700 calories a day,  try to keep under 25 carbs,  around 70 grams of protein, 80-1200oz water. So I feel good about where I am.

Now for the NSV!! For years I've had a terrible issue with my triglycerides. Normal is supposed to be under 150, and my levels were over 1000 usually. Sometimes reaching 2000. They think the estrogen in my birth control was helping it increase. I was even hospitalized last summer with acute pancreatitis for 8 days,  from the high triglycerides.

So what were my triglycerides today you ask? ?

87!  Eighty freaking seven! !! Not even triple digits,  straight to the double digits!

Man I've been smiling ear to ear since I saw that number. It's amazing. And all of my other labs were perfect too, though vitamin D is still pending. My B12 was a little high according to their bracket at 926, but I'll wait to see what they say. My preop B12 was 300, so i think 926 is a vast improvement.

I am having a few issues though. I'm having pain in both upper quadrants that radiate to the back,  so I'm thinking it's either my gallbladder or pancreas. We're going to possibly get an ultrasound to see what's going on.

Feeling wonderful today!

Thank you!  Yes I was blown away. The lowest I've ever seen them was when I stopped BC and was taking tricor for them. Evan then it was still 200-300.

So cool - congrats to you!  Having my first bloodwork done at the end of the week (6 weeks from surgery).  Hoping I get somewhere near the good results you did.

Good luck with the gallbladder/pancreas issue.  Had my gallbladder out several years ago -- 2nd best surgery I ever had and a piece of cake.

Thank you everyone! !

When you see your sizes drop abd the scale moves,  It's a great feeling. But being able to see all those lab values in a normal range?  It was something so special.  And a big confirmation that this was the right thing to do.

To ease your mind.....

We started at the same weight, and the goal I told people was the same as yours also.  Using the exact same time period you reference, my loss was 63.8 pounds, so basically no real difference.  You're also following the same eating pattern I followed all the way until I dropped below 150 pounds.  The only difference in the equation is the male vs. female metabolism.  That may play a bigger factor down the road but all appears reasonable for now.

PS: Try not to drink 1200oz of water.  It will kill you.  (LOL couldn't let you slide by the typo police on that one)
