My hubby and I did this together too: me, last July and he did it in August. Between the two of us, we have lost nearly 350 pounds. In fact, the other day I commented, "Hey, we don't weigh half a ton any more, now we're nearly a quarter ton!" And continuing to shrink.
It is the absolute best gift we could have given ourselves. There is so much more that we can do together now that we couldn't do before, and going through this together has strengthened our bond even more.
You WILL have a better quality of life, and a longer life together. I hope your hubby's surgery went well, and wish you well when it is your turn!
