Just a little rant.

My relatives are bugging my mom,  telling her that I just can't lose 20 more lbs! ! I'll look sick! I'll get sick!  I'll be too skinny!

I'm kind of past the point of politeness. I told my mom that next time they mention it,  to tell them it's none of their business.  I work closely with my NUT, surgeon,  and nurses.  I'm 184 lbs at 5'6 and wear a size 12. My blood work is the best it's been in years.  I'm probably the healthiest I've ever been!

People talk when you're fat,  and they talk when you're losing weight. Neither is none of your business folks! I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing.

End rant.

That really sucks for your mom.  I hope that my relatives don't do the same thing to mine at some point!  If they do, I'll suggest that she just replies with, "That's really something you should talk to Gwen about."

I'm sorry your going through that. My parents did the same to me that I was too thin that maybe I should wear clothing that made me look fuller, or gain a little. It was irritating, like you said they criticize when your heavy, criticize when your thin. Finally, they told me they were looking at my old pictures and could not believe how big I was and that now they are used to me thin. You have to make yourself happy, not try to please everyone else. You have the right attitude, keep doing what your doing. Your doing awesome!

Omg telling you to GAIN weight? That's bad. How confusing haha. I just want to get as much out of this surgery as I can in one go.

I'm also 5'6" and 138lbs..

and I look great!! Size 4 in pants (some 2's) and a medium or small in tops..

just tell your mom to tell them your done..and as you keep on loosing weigh if they

comment..say no, I'm done, I haven't lost anything more..

it's not their business and they don't need to know..

it's what I do..I just say Yea...I'm done.

That's a good idea. Just tell everyone I'm done!  I know they mean the best,  but they are too nosy for their own good.

And congrats,  you look fantastic!  I couldn't imagine myself at 138, but who knows!  I certainly won't tell my family LOL.

I do the exact same thing grayC - every time a family member sees me they're like "jeesh, every time I see you, you get smaller!" and just laugh and say, "Actually, I've gained 3 lbs. since Christmas! (which was true until just recently).  I'm just wearing clothes that fit me now so you think I've lost more weight."

That usually shuts them up - lol!

Hold your ground.  People are likely still used to the heavier you, so comparitively you seem quite small.  But, I see from your ticker you are looking to lose 30 more.  I can see how that makes sense.  I am 6'2'', size 12, and weigh 185-190.  I am not thin by any means, but neither am I overweight.  Go to where your goal is, and the others will eventually adjust.

This is exactly what I told my mom.  They are just used to me being morbidly obese,  so comparatively I'm dangerously underweight lol. If they only saw how vitamins I take,  the goods I eat,  And knew what I've actually gone through to get where I am!

Wow! I am the same height and one goal is to be at 180, the next one will to be 150-160.....not too skinny....when I am 150 I can barely get into a size 9. Sorry you are having trouble, there are bigger things in life to worry about than your weight loss! Hope your mom can stand up for you and tell them all to worry about something else.
