Right lower abd pain

So my husband was sleeved July 10, 2013 and has done pretty well with weight loss. Lately though, he has been having severe painstaking his abdomen on the right side. T happens a couple times a week for the last 3 weeks or so. The pain is sharp and severe, comes in waves and generally eases up after a couple/few hours. It does not seem to be related to fatty food consumption or anything he eats. We sort of assumed it could be gallbladder related and so did our family doc but bloodwork and ultrasound didnt show anything. Our family doc said he should follow up with his surgeon but being that his surgery was preformed in Mexico, not sure how much good this will do. Any one have anything like this or have any suggestions?

gallbladder would be my first guess.

pancreatitis?

Your PCP shouldn't brush you off onto the surgeon - tell the PCP that you can't get to the surgeon and the PCP needs to figure this out (referrals to the right people to get it figured out).

IF your PCP won't help - find a new doc or go to urgent care/ER during the next attack.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't say she brushed him off..she ordered the ultrasound and bloodwork and nothing showed up. I would imagine pancreatitis would show on ultrasound, wouldn't it? She also prescribed Buscopan. She just seems to think it is related to the surgery and must be some kind of after effect from it, hence her recommendation to talk to the surgeon. I just don't know what it could be.

It might be wise to get a leak test.  Sadly pain in that area could be anything from a kidney stone, to a leak, to a pulled muscle :/

Would a leak cause intermittent pain though?
