Congrats and welcome to the losers bench. I'm 5 weeks out and by no means experienced enough to give out any sound advice but I do know that your new stomach is extremely swollen right now. my doc said that it's the diameter of a pencil right after surgery which is why you can barely get anything down. I haven't experienced foamies though. I remember my mouth was so dry and my body ached. Oh man how my body hurt BUT as everyone says and dare I say it: It Does Get Better with each passing day. Remember to be patient with recovery, drink as much as can, walk as much asyou can, and stay positive as much as you can. Good luck!!
I believe you. The foamies is just like having whatever you swallowed sir in the back of your throat. If it comes up there is no stomach acid at all.
Personally I think that you at five weeks out are a perfect expert since you remember the first couple of weeks of symptoms that veterans forget. What are you eating now?
thanks for the wonderful reply
I'm glad that they're taking care of you and keeping you in the hospital until you're able to go home! I wish you swift healing.

i had to stay an extra night in the hospital because of the swelling and nothing getting through. I experience the foamies. I had my sleeve Wednesday and was released Friday as I was finally able to sip water. Unfortunately a few hours after I got home I couldn't keep anything down. Byy Saturday evening I was do miserable I ended up in the er getting 2 bags of iv fluids. Sunday was good only threw up once in the morning. Yesterday was rough again. I threw up twice. The second time was my fault. I'm really into super cold things and had a few bites of my husbands slushy. Too much sugar and that was that. I'm hoping today will be a better day! Good luck to you. I hope it starts to get better soon!
On sept 2 I went back into the hospital for 6 days!!!! I couldn't stop vomiting and was severely dehydrated. After not completely telling the truth about keeping food down and the amount of water I can drink, I was released. I can't describe the regrets I feel for having vsg. Each day has been hell. I don't quite understand how to eat. I'm starving but hate the feeling of being full.
On a positive note.... Everyday does get better. I feel phenomenal compared to last week! The fear of dehydration but mostly hospitalization ensures water intake. In the pureed phase what do you eat? I am sooo suck of eating potato soup, yogurt and protein shakes.
