Weight loss slowing down already

I had my surgery October 1rst and by my first post op appointment on October 17th I had lost 38 pounds. Since then I have only lost 6 pounds and it has been a month. I am not eating the things that I'm not supposed to and keeping to my measurements at each meal. I am feeling very discouraged. I feel like my surgeon is going to be disappointed at my next appointment in a few days.

Stalls are completely normal throughout the entire weight loss process.  Stick to the plan, focus on your goals, and you'll reach them.

One thing my NUT is already preparing me for is stalls (I've not had the surgery yet).  She said to me, "if you are doing all the right things, the weight has no choice but to come off".  She said to remember that during periods of stalls.  I think I might hang that up somewhere as a reminder even before I hit one!

Good luck!

Dont worry just keep doing all of the right things and you will loss. Easier said than done I know. When that scale is not moving or moving not as much as you would like it is very discouraging. I am 5 months out and continue to tell myself this all of the time. It is such a roller coaster but worth every second. I am constant fear that the weight loss is over because of stalls but they always break. It doesnt doesn't stop me from freaking out each time i hit one though.

Best wishes! Keep up the awesome work! You can do it!!

Welcome to the frustrating world of post surgery weight loss.

Most people don't have consistent weight loss each week.  You need to focus on long term results and not let short term disappointments on the scale make you feel discouraged.  I promise you that your surgeon will NOT be disappointed.  And if he is, so what?  If you're sticking to your program, drinking plenty of fluids and getting in some exercise, the weight has no choice but to come off.

Remember that weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint.  You've already lost 38 pounds which is AMAZING.  Don't focus on the negative.  You're doing great.

It's less than 2 months out, and you're eating things you KNOW you shouldn't be, and you're overeating? If you can't stick to your plan this early on, it will make things more difficult down the line; ignoring the rules is NOT a good way to succeed.

It looks like you completely misunderstood my post. I am NOT Eating the foods that are off limits, which is what my original post states. I am also measuring my food and sticking to it.
