Newbies what are you eating/drinking?
Any peeps out there who are still on full liquids? I'd like to know what you're managing to drink. I'm five days out and worry it's not enough. So far:
B. 1/4 c. Cream of whea****ered down with another 1/4 c 1% milk.
S. 5 onz V8 (regular) and 20 onz water
L. 1/2 cup cream of chicken soup.
S 6onz protein Shake (27 gem)
Working on 16 onz water bottle
When I was on full liquids, I was drinking 3-5 protein shakes a day. I also did soups - my favorite was Panera's french onion soup that I strained. Yum.
How many grams of protein are you getting in?

Hi Gwen, I need to get back to my dietician on Monday cuz the handout she gave confuses me a bit. It calls for 64 onz of liquids and thats including the cream of wheat, cream of chicken, and it even includes scrambled egg 😳 and that's not all no mention of protein shakes. I'm drinking protein because of this forum. Yesterday I had 57grms.
That does sound really confusing! My plan didn't involve cream of wheat and I could only have strained soups. But liquids were liquids.

On the liquids phase, I drank protein shakes mixed with almond milk, full stop. Three protein shakes a day. I kinda liked how simple it was and luckily I found a shake I could tolerate after a couple days (had issues with lactose).
V8, cream of wheat, and even some cream soups can be pretty carby so personally I would have skipped them in favor of the shakes.
It goes by in the blink of an eye.
My full liquid diet consists of thinned cream soups, pudding, cream of wheat and protein shakes. Yogurt too but I cannot do it. I have never been able to eat that or cottage cheese. Also Carnation Breakfast Essentials, SF. My hubby bought the regular so I have stopped those. We are adding extra protein to the shakes. Also any of the clear liquids previously allowed. This phase lasts 14 days. My issue is the water, even though I added Power Aid and Crystal Light, its a struggle at 32 oz let alone 64.
I am starting day 6 and still loving my decision. My sleeve is almost 1 week old!
I am also 5 days out but am on "thin" liquids (consisting of broth, crystal light, and protein powders mixed with water.)
Yesterday I drank 72 oz of fluid and got in 57 grams of protein in the form of chicken broth, Isopure protein powder and Unjury Chicken Soup Protein, which is a life saver as all pre-op proteins are tasting pretty nasty right now.
Hi, I'm having a very hard time getting in my protein. The shakes are starting to make me nauseas just thinking about drinking them, I'm eating about a 1/2 cup of soup for lunch and dinner, I put a progresso light veggie soup through my magic bullet and then heated and drank it. Powerade zero and water as much as I can but I don't think I'm drinking nearly enough
