Before and After eating....

Before surgery, I could easily devour about 4-5 slices of pizza. I remember as a teen, sharing two pizzas with my best friend. (Wow, I can't believe I did that!) I love the stuff.

Now, 11 months post-op, when hosts or family decides on pizza, I will scrape the toppings off one slice. I eat the meat, cheeses and veggies and I love it. But that's it. I cannot eat the crust (nor do I want to! Breads and carbs bloat me terribly!) so I am quite content to have the toppings.

Wishing you lots of luck! Oh, as a side note: I was shown a graphic somewhere along the way of what my sleeve looks like. Essentially it's between the size of a sharpie and a highlighter. That's as much as my sleeve can hold. And I'm good with that!

I'm almost kinda nervous to not feel hungry.. Because I'm soo used to be hungry all the time! Just something to have to get used too. I still get scared of having vitamin deficient or not enough nutrition.. But I think with the VSG we have a better chance of not having that. To think about how much I can consume now.. And people are talking about 2-3 ounces of protein. I can eat a half a pound of ground turkey.. Almost a pound of fish.. With no problem at all.. Crazy!

Take good quality vitamins daily and you should have not problem.  I have had two vitamin blood workups since my sleeve and everything is great.  I take Thorne bariatric vitamins with iron and 3 Bariatric Advantage calcium chews daily.  They chews are great and are my daily treat.

Before surgery, I could polish off a 2lb steak with little problem.  Now, I can eat about 3-4 ounces of steak and 2-3 ounces of chicken.  Still seems weird that chicken is more fillling than steak.  And apparently that is true for a lot of VSGers.

And don't be disappointed if you do feel hunger after your surgery.  At 6 months out, mine started coming back which my surgeon warned me about.

Thanks for the advice on the vitamins.

is it werid to go from being able to eat so much to having almost no hunger? To you get used to that feeling.

It is kind of weird.   More weird is how little food can make you feel like you ate a 4000 calorie thanksgiving dinner.
