I took 6 weeks per my dr advice (I was 57) using FMLA ... totally happy that I did, was really ready when I went back to work, fully charged up and healthy.

My FMLA was approved for 4 weeks. And my job has nurses *****view your reason and determine the effective amount of time for recovery.

I thought I was feeling well enough to go back now but a trip to the store left me feeling tired and weak so I'm not going to ru**** I'll use the extra time to stock up on foods I will need and getting in a little walking.

But at 8 days out I feel pretty darn good if you wanna use that as a gauge. :)

I went back at a week and a half. But honestly, I was tired. I didn't have energy until week 3!

I was off, basically, for two weeks and a day, as I had to have my follow up with the surgeon to get released back.  However, she did clear me to work from home a couple of hours per day after a week, as I felt up to it.  She laughed when I asked, but after some discussion, she felt that , with the type of work I did, if I was feeling ok, I could do a coupe of hours.  When I went back full time, I was tired at the end of the day, but made it through.  By week 3, I was back to normal.

I went back to work 2 weeks from the date of my surgery.  I have an office/desk job.  I did just fine.

I win the prize!

I took off 8 weeks from my open DS.  I'm very glad I did, for I was very listless for 6 weeks.  I spent the last two weeks developing a good routine for eating and such that I could keep up with at the office.

Just one week. Surgery Monday, working the next Monday (desk job). I was quite tired but it hasn't been bad.
