Your nutritionist is right, you definitely want Calcium Citrate, not carbonate. I take Bariatric Advantage Chewable Calcium because it doesn't have sugar alcohols, but it is sort of dusty. I don't mind them but others prefer the chewable bites. Citrical petites are fine. I also have calcium powder I can put in my shakes but to be honest, I don't use it.

I used Wellesse liquid calcium for the first four weeks after surgery, then switched to Citracal Petites.

I stay away from the specialty bariatric supplements as they (ironically) tend to have more calories and carbs than anything else on the market.

I take Bariatric Advantage chewable calcium citrate.  Sugar  free chocolate flavor.   They taste like Viactiv. Very yummy!

I take = Bariatric Advantage Soft Chews Calcium in Peanut Butter Chocolate Flavor. They taste yummy, and are like a bite of dessert after my meals. I will warn others, though, that the Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin Chewables taste absolutely horrible, so I don't recommend those. :-)
