Surgical glue

I was sleeved on 8/11 and I have one incision that has been chaffing a lot so almost all of the glue is gone. It's freaking me out, lol!  I've started covering that incision with gauze and tape so the glue doesn't come off prematurely.  How long did your surgical glue stay on?

Thanks!!

My glue was on for about two weeks, but it started to wear off after about a week. I have four critters, so my glue was covered in fuzzles early on!

I'd suggest calling your surgeon's office to ask if you should re-cover things, or if it's OK to let the glue start wearing off on its own. They should be able to tell you over the phone.

My surgeon pulled it off at my first follow-up, which was about 5 days after surgery.  The glue just holds the very outer layer closed.  There are sutures under the skin that holds the bulk of your incision closed.  Don't freak!

Mine was on for a couple weeks.  You can apply steri-strips or butterfly bandages to keep a gap closed.
