Congrats on coming through your surgery okay!

You're only four days post-op. You have to work your way up to water and protein goals as you heal. The more important thing for you to concentrate on right now is water. Keep working hard at increasing your liquid intake. Your biggest threat in the next six weeks is dehydration, which can sneak up on you and land you in the ER faster than you can say, "But I'm not thirsty."

Your protein shakes count as liquid intake, BTW. Don't sweat the protein. It will increase as your ability to drink more increases. Good luck! And watch out for dehydration -- it's "da debbil."

I'm four months out, and I'm no where near 800 calories. Recheck your plan.

I am about ten weeks out and I didn't worry too much about calories the first few weeks.  I focused on liquids.  I did protein in a lot of water - I used Nectar syntrex and used 1 scoop for 28 ounces, so I would at least get a both some protein and my liquids in.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

All you are supposed to be doing now is staying hydrated with frequent but small quantities of liquids.

At no point are you supposed to be force feeding yourself 800 calories a day.

I'm 5 days post op and I doubt I am getting 200 calories. My program doesn't have any target calorie goals this early; in fact all I am supposed to do is drink liquids the first two weeks so virtually all my calories come from Gatorade. I feel satisfied.

At this stage you should focus on protein and water, not calories.  Good luck

don't worry about it the first few weeks!  jsut focus on getting the water in.  you dont NEED 800 calories (that's a lot for the first few weeks anyway).  protein shakes, milk.

Don't even worry about the calories right now - you're way too early out for that!  Focus on water and upping your protein as you can.  The calories will get to 800 per day soon enough - trust me on that one
