I'm 2 weeks post op today.. So today was the first day I could consume 8 oz of protein shake without hurting.. Is this normal? I feel like I shouldn't be able to consume that much yet..

Liquids go straight through your pyloric valve. They don't engage the sleeve's restriction. The only reason some people struggle with liquids early on is because their stomach tissues are severely swollen, inflamed, and bruised after surgery. The faster your stomach heals, the sooner you can drink easily. So what you have is evidence that your surgeon did good work and you are a quick healer -- not that your sleeve is malformed or anything like that!

I was drinking an 11 oz Premier Protein shake over a few minutes time about a week or so after surgery. Once your post op swelling goes away, fluids just go through you. It's completely normal. 8 oz of fluid isn't the same as 8 oz of solids which you should be on anyways until week 9. Good luck.
