3 week stall - advice or suggestions welcome.

So it's been three weeks since my surgery and this week my weight has remained the same. I have been aware of the three week stall. Next week I am allowed to begin exercising and that is what I am going to do. I have been waking and finding excuses to going up and downs my stairs just to remain active. But how long will this last? I know its normal as my body is adjusting and I am now losing fat so that will take longer and I will lose slower. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.

Mine (Starting a week out from surgery) lasted for 22 days. Nothing you can do because it's your body adjusting and catching up with itself. It won't last forever and most of the time we still lose inches. Have you taken measurements? My last stall I had just gotten into a size 18 pants and 2 weeks later I still weighed the same but I was in a size 16.

I haven't taken measurements yet. I guess now is the time. I have a size 18 jeans that I am waiting to fit into properly as they fit tight, thats what I am kind of going by right now but I think the measurements r more accurate. thank u

Keep doing what you're doing, and don't get hung up on your progress. If you're obsessing over numbers NOW, you're gonna be in for a helluva shock once you're a few months out and things slow down for good.

Yup.....that pesky third week stall.....just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and suddenly it will flip over to the losing mode again.

I've found that even when the scale doesn't move, I just try on clothes that were too tight two weeks ago....suddenly they fit....feels wonderful and then the numbers on the scale don't matter quite as much because the inches are going and the scale will catch up soon.

Good luck with getting past that stall soon and enjoy those stairs for now....you'll be back to real exercise soon too.

Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.

Third week stalls are very common... if you search for it you'll find a ton of posts. Is completely normal and you'll probably experience one again. My last stall lasted six weeks, but I've noticed that is when your body drops inches. There is a good post somewhere here that explains why.

Stay positive...it won't last!
