I would like to thank everyone for the advice and encouragement during what was a low point for me. I had an assessment done and was given the diagnosis of eating disorder(NOS). Is anyone here familiar with this? If so please share any info you may have, thanks.

My understanding it it means "you have an eating disorder, but we don't have a specific name for it." Did you get any other information? Or will that come later?

That's what I got from it too, should have more info later, also I was referred to an outpatient program for eating disorders.

I think this sounds like good news because it means that you're making progress and moving in the right direction. I hope you feel a little bit of relief to know that something is happening and that you finally, at least, have a diagnosis?

Very interesting, I just happened to watch a video on YouTube yesterday about EDNOS and how many people it effects. These people have eating disorders that don't fit neatly into any of the best known disorder groups--anorexia, bulimia, binge eating. It was quite an informative video and I learned many things I had never heard before. Here is a link to the video:

Any eating disorder other than anorexia, bulimia and binge eating is considered a EDNOS or NOS. Impulsive or compulsive eating when you are not biblically hungary. Often followed by shame and/or anger.

Multi discipline treatment is usually the moist successful in the long run.

Good luck.
