Full Liquids

I know every surgeon is different and allows different things but if I have to eat one more bowl of chicken broth I am going to come unglued. What got you through this phase,14 more days until mushy foods. Looking for less sweet options.

PS I am carb craving something beyond belief, so more protein it is tonight.

It's still broth, but have you tried beef or any other flavor? Beef broth is what got me through. Not sure what kind of broth you're using, but bone broth has deeper flavor, than say Swanson. Personally, I used concentrated beef and chicken soup base instead of broth. Much more satisfying to me.

Also, not sure what "full liquids" are considered in your plan, but aren't cream soups made with skim milk, or pureed soups part of that plan? I'd sure be eating those if it is, they would be much more filling to me.

Cream soups and puréed soup is good for me at this stage. I don't know if I can eat cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, seems odd, I am a mid west girl those go in hot dishes (casserole). Maybe today is just a whiny day. I was hoping my doc would give me the green light to mushy foods but no luck. I had a couple of bad days after surgery with vomiting so he wants a few more weeks to heal every thing up. I trust him, just not myself.

Pureed cream of potato is one I absolutely loved when I could eat it. You don't really need to worry about the carbs at this point, you can focus more on that once you're eating your solid proteins. I'd sure try that and perhaps even cream of broccoli?

So just made mock chicken tortilla.. chicken broth, tomato, fire roasted corn, a tiny bit of cream cheese to make it creamy... oh and some taco/fajita seasoning... not too bad..

I got soups I like - chicken noodle, hot and sour, clam chowder - and put them through a ffine strainer to get out all the chunks. And I put unflavored protein powder in most of them.

I almost lived on hot and sour soup in the beginning. It's my absolute favorite.
