How much or how little?

So I am Almost 4 months post surgery and I'm not sure what are the numbers I should be hitting and staying under. I know about the protein but my surgeon has not really given me any other indications as to what numbers i should be avoiding on things like sugars and carbs probably because I'm still kinda new but if anyone on here can help or even give me a ball park that would be awesome! I know the honeymoon phase is almost over so I want to make sure that I am on the right path. Thanks everyone!

I looked back at my numbers on MFP to see what I was doing at 4 months out. It seems I pretty much stayed the same from month 3 to month 9: Calories below 600, protein fluctuated between 60g-90g and carbs were never over 50, most days under 30. I did not track my fat. My water goal was always 96oz.

I questioned this at my last meeting, my program doesn't give any set numbers apart from the protein, water and eventual calorie goal - my RD wants me eventually at 1200 but no strict timeline on when to reach this. I'm 2 months out and usually around 600 calories, 45 - 65 protein and minimum or 64 fl oz.

I would try for 60-80g of protein, but your calories and water are fine. I crawled from about 300 calories per day to 800 by 6 months and had good steady weight loss.

Thanks Erin, I've started adding a Premier Protein shake in and I'm now usually sitting in the 60s for my protein, but even with the shake it can be difficult some days.

Yep, it is. That's why it's especially important to target foods with at least 1g of protein per 10 calories. That will naturally limit your carbs early out too. It will get easier to get it all in. I'm working on getting to maintenance calories (eating 1,300/day right now) and getting well over 100g with ease now.

General guidelines that get tossed around here for the weight-loss phase:

600 - 800 calories

60 - 80+ g protein

Under 25g carbs (40g for the more-lenient folks)
