I overslept this morning! I forgot to turn my alarm on and I slept until almost 6. It appears that the snow stopped early but now it's only 8 degrees! Today is meeting day, so I'll be off soon to work.

QOTD: Are you a hugger or a non-hugger? My family is NOT huggers. As I've gotten older I've learned to tolerate hugging someone when they offer, but I truly don't like to touch people who aren't in the 4 walls of my house.

Still fighting the scale to get below the 400 mark. Ritzen fratzen... stupid scale! I'm going to double down on the liquids today, trim back the fat in the protein and make the carb count super super low for a couple of days. I'm going to get over this hump!

QOTD: I am NOT a hugger. Like you, Erin, I have learned to tolerate them in social settings, but my preference is "Do not violate my personal space." The exception is when people are grieving. My inclination is to hug, hold and comfort someone who is in severe emotional distress. Go figure!

M1: Egg and Old Wisconsin Turkey Bites

M2: Honey smoked turkey breast

M3: Fage 0%, protein powder and SF peach jello

M4: Turkey bites and LF string cheese

M5: Turkey and pork sausage taco style (I'm going to make this tonight!!!).

S: Hot tea, hot tea and more hot tea. No other snacks today.

E: Going to try and hit 1000 steps again today and play with my new weights.

Water and vits on track

I know you know that those stalls are normal, so I won't go into all that.

I will say that you are SO inspiring to me! You are on here every single day, and you list everything you eat and drink to keep track. You've lost SO much weight already and you're doing such an amazing job!!

You're going to hit those 3's hard before you know it! You'll look back in a year and be shocked at how far you've come.

I ALWAYS stalled right before major milestones. Pissed me the **** off :P

It's interesting what you say about grieving people and hugs. I feel like, when I was grieving, I was way more hands off than I normally am - I specifically didn't want people to offer me obvious comfort because I knew it would just trigger huge grief waves. :/

I've been bouncing between 402.8 and 400.8 for 3 weeks. We are going to force the issue! Rah!

I am actually the same way. I am very cautious when someone is grieving to feel them out as to their preference. If they are looking for comfort, then I find I can offer it far easier than a simple casual cheek to cheek chick hug. (Dahling... you are looking so wunderful! Whatever did you do to your hair!)

Good morning! It is 25 here this morning which is pretty cold considering that we were swimming in the 80s last week. We did most of the Christmas decorating yesterday and bought most remaining Christmas gifts. I have just a few decorating things to finish up and need to sort through the mail from the last 3.5 weeks we were gone (mostly junk). I also need to try and get stocking stuffers for the kids today and perhaps one or two more small things for one DD.

QOTD: Interesting question. My mother was not a hugger, so I wasn't when young. I became more of a hugger when I had a child, then when I married DH I joined a family of huggers. I think I have gravitated more that way, but quicker more perfunctory ones perhaps than some other people?

1 year, 9 months post-op, 1 year maintaining my current weight:

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: ? (Going out for the last time before I have to hide out for 7-10 days post PS)

S: enlightened broad beans

Good morning! We're having a small party for my son's birthday on Sunday (we do a bigger "half birthday" in June when it's not so close to Christmas). I thought I had everything prepared but realized I forgot soda and wine. I haven't had either in so long (and certainly wont be drinking either) that they were completely off my radar.

QOTD - I love hugs from my family. I have no problem hugging friends as a greeting. I'm really not crazy about touching people I'm not close to. My students think I'm weird.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - leftover crack slaw

S - protein shake

D - scrambled eggs and sausage

water and vitamins on track

It's ridiculously cold here, but yet here I sit sipping on an iced coffee - yum.

QOTD: A hugger indeed! Sometimes you can just see someone is upset and needs a hug - and I go for it, haha. Also I'm Italian - and maybe it's a stereotype, but we're huggers!

B: 1/2 bagel w/butter

L: going out - maybe a chopped salad or blackened salmon - both of which I love at the restaurant I'm going to

D: going out! What a day. I think we are going to a great restaurant that serves tapas. I always get lettuce cups and then nibble on whatever my husband gets - which is always tempura shrimp and filet.

E: doubtful - too busy and too cold.

L/V: must work on this today

I woke up early, so just waiting until it's time to leave for the hospital.

QOTD: I'm a hugger with family and friends, but I am sometimes puzzled by getting hugged by someone I just met. For example, I went on a hike with a group I don't know and they gather for coffee afterwards. So I went to that and when I was leaving I got a hug and a "so nice to meet you" from one of the female hikers I hadn't talked to much. It caught me off guard!

B, L, D, S: None today. Sad face.

I never understand that, either.

In some cultures, it's traditional to tou*****ertain ways....in America, I guess we just do what we feel like!

;-)

Good luck today!! :-)
