whoever told you that either is lying or doesn't know what they are talking about.

I lost 122# with my sleeve and have maintained the loss for 8 years.

It is all about what and how much you put in your mouth

The weight loss ticker is probably giving the averages. Many people here on OH have lost 100% of their excess weight. I actually lost more than that and have maintained for more than 17 months now (see my signature for specifics). If not for OH support and advice I probably wouldn't have been as successful. Support (and in some cases therapy) are essential, in addition to learning new eating habits.

Welcome! This is honestly the BEST help group (obesityhelp.com)EVER! Take the advise of the ones who have succeeded. I have VSG scheduled for May 22nd and this group has already helped me on the path to success (besides my bariatric clinic/surgeon). I've seen LOTS of success stories on here of people who have lost 100% of their weight and have kept it off. Start looking at the 'What are you eating" discussions. I've learned a LOT from these people who had surgery many years ago. They've figured it out and are offering their experience for free. WONDERFUL people! Anyway....WELCOME!
